There is always something going on in the City of Santa Clarita. Whether it's music in the park, a unique art exhibit, a national cycling tour, or outdoor recreation, the City entertains thousands of residents and visitors each year. Seasonal events are our specialty, from the Cowboy Festival in the spring, Concerts in the Park in the summer, to Thursdays@Newhall in the fall, and the Santa Clarita Marathon in the winter. Santa Clarita Thursdays At NewhallOld Town Newhall transforms from a bustling retail and dining destination by day, to a thriving Arts and Entertainment District by night, as the City of Santa Clarita hosts the Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru.  Enjoy free weekly entertainment and nightlife on Main Street every Thursday evening with a weekly rotation of JAM Sessions interactive dance demo, Revved Up car show, SENSES block party, 10 by 10 theatrical variety night, Note by Note songwriters night, The ARTree 2017 speakers series.




Santa Clarita Youth Art ShowcaseDate: Saturday, March 25 • 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Location: The Centre
The City of Santa Clarita is celebrating Youth Art Month by hosting the 2017 Youth Art Showcase on Saturday, March 25, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, located at The Centre.  The free event gives students in the Santa Clarita Valley an opportunity to showcase their talent by performing or displaying their art for the community.  Each school district will highlight their visual artists and performing artists, local dance studios will lead participatory movement and dance classes, student artists will display their street painting masterpieces and local art studios will give interactive art demonstrations.


Santa Clarita EggstravaganzaDate: Saturday, April 15, starting at 10:00 am
Location: Central Park
Let the hunt begin! Santa Clarita is holding its popular free egg hunt events happening this Saturday, April 15, at the Central Park and Santa Clarita Aquatics Center. Both egg hunts are open to kids 10 & under. The Egg Scramble Egg Hunt at the City’s annual Eggstravaganza will take place Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at Central Park. The event is free and open to the public.

Bring your egg basket and swim trunks to the pool party at the 8th Annual Splash and Dash Egg Hunt! on Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center. The event is free to attend, but participants are encouraged to bring a canned or non-perishable food donation to benefit the SCV Food Pantry.

Santa Clarita Earth Arbor DayDate: Saturday, April 29 & 30, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Location: Central Park
The City of Santa Clarita’s Earth Arbor Day celebration, presented by the SCV Family of Water Suppliers on Saturday, April 29  & Sunday, April 30 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Central Park is an event that is held in conjunction with the worldwide Earth Day efforts of improving environmental awareness and taking care of the planet. Join in the festivities at this eco-friendly event to renew your commitment to reduce, reuse, and recycle to protect and preserve our environment.

Santa Clarita Cowboy FestivalDate: April 19- April 23
Location: Old Town Newhall
Tickets are now on sale for the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, presented by  Herritage Sierra Medical, set for April 19 - 23, 2017 in Old Town Newhall.  For more than 23 years, this community event has rounded up visitors from across the United States and beyond to experience the best in Cowboy music and attractions. The 2017 Cowboy Festival will feature more performances and activities than ever before, in Old Town Newhall, providing a unique glimpse into Santa Clarita’s own Wild West past.

Santa Clarita Wings for Life World RunDate: Sunday, May 7, starting at 4:00 am
Location: Westfield Valencia Town Center
Representing the Western United States among the long list of worldwide locations, the Wing for Life run takes place in the heart of Santa Clarita on Sunday, May 7.  The World Run begins at 4 AM allowing runners to enjoy an exciting start under the lights until the catcher car, initially going just under 10 mph, passes the participant marking their personal finish line as the sun rises.

Santa Clarita Amgen Tour of CaliforniaDate: Wednesday, May 17, in town around 3:45pm
Location: Westfield Valencia Town Center
Beginning on May 17, 2016, the world’s most accomplished cyclists will compete in the 2017 Amgen Tour of California, a Tour de France-style cycling road race created and presented by AEG. Cyclists will make their way from the heart of San Diego to Sacramento over the course of eight days across nearly 800 miles of California’s most beautiful terrain. 

The City of Santa Clarita will host the Stage 4 Finish for the 2017 Amgen Tour of California on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Stage 2 will begin in new host city South Pasadena and travel 92 miles to the finish in Santa Clarita.




Santa Clarita Fourth of July CelebrationDate: Tuesday, July 4
Celebrate Independence Day with a series of patriotic events hosted throughout the City of Santa Clarita on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, as a way of commemorating an essential day in American history.



Santa Clarita Concerts in the ParkDate: Saturdays, from July 8 - August 26, starting at 7:00 pm
Location: Central Park
The City of Santa Clarita’s popular summer Concerts in the Park, presented by Logix Federal Credit Union, is back for a 28th year with an eclectic line-up of all-new acts, including award-winning tribute bands highlighting some of the greats. The free, annual concert series kicks off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2016  in Central Park, located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road. 

Summer Bash

Santa Clarita Summer BashDate: Friday, June 23 • 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Location: Luther Drive, Canyon Country
The City of Santa Clarita will be hosting the Summer Bash in Canyon Country, on Friday, June 23 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm on Luther Drive.  Summer Bash will transform Luther Drive into a family-friendly block party experience complete with a live music, food trucks, beer garden, and fun family activities.  Entrance to the event is free.

Great American Camp Out PhotoDate: Saturday, June 24 - Sunday, June 25
Location: Central Park
Forget about the TV and the computer for the night. Pop up a tent and enjoy the summer night under the stars with your family and friends. Enjoy this one of a kind event full of activities for everyone. The Great American Camp Out will be held on Saturday, June 24 through Sunday, June 25. Best of all, this event will take place in our very own Central Park. Get your camping gear ready! 

Dive in Movies

Santa Clarita Dive in MoviesDates: TBA
Location: Santa Clarita Aquatic Center
Cool off this summer and make a splash with a family Dive-In-Movie night in a unique outdoor setting.  The City of Santa Clarita’s 2016 Dive-In Movie series allows residents to relax poolside at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center while enjoying their favorite PG-rated films.  For just $7.00 per person, families can settle in for a Friday night at the cinema under the stars from the comfort of a poolside lounge chair or even the pool itself.  All Dive-In Movies start at 7:00 p.m. with this year’s lineup to be announced.




Santa Clarita River RallyDate: Saturday, September 17
Location: Santa Clara River
Come help clean a portion of the Santa Clara River… the longest free-flowing river and one of the last two natural river systems remaining in Southern California at the annual River Rally on Saturday, September 17, starting at 8:00 am . Be a part of the solution for a better environment by helping to preserve the river’s natural beauty and variety of wildlife. To date, thousands of volunteers have collected over 410,000 pounds of trash and debris from the Santa Clara River and its tributaries! Pre-Registration will be required through the web-based volunteer registration system. 

Underwater Pumpkin Carving

Santa Clarita Under Water Pumpkin CarvingDate: Saturday, October 28
Location: Santa Clarita Aquatic Center
The 10th Annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest and Spooky Family Fair will be held on Saturday, October 28, beginning at 6:00 pm at the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center.  Watch certified SCUBA dive teams create underwater masterpieces in the depths of the Aquatics diving pool at 6:00 p.m. and enjoy games and trick or treating around the pool.  An underwater camera will capture all the action so spectators can watch the dive teams’ progress live on a big screen while participating in various festive activities. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in Halloween costumes.

Santa Clarita MarathonDate: Sunday, November 5, starts at 7:00 am
Location: starting on McBean Parkway
The Santa Clarita Marathon, an official qualifying race for the Boston Marathon, will test the physical boundaries of the human body on Sunday, November 5, 2017. Race day includes a full marathon, a half marathon, a 5K run, Mayor’s Walk, and a Kid K run.  All races begin at 7:00 am, with the exception of the Kid K, which will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Veterans Day Ceremony

Santa Clarita Veterans DayDate: Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 11:00 am
Location: Veterans Historical Plaza, 24275 N. Walnut Street
On Sunday, November 11 at 11:00 am, the City of Santa Clarita invites community members to attend a special Veterans Day Ceremony to honor local veterans, currently-serving military and their families. Hosted in partnership with local Veterans organizations, this ceremony includes musical performers, speakers, and the changing of the flags.

Light Up Main Street
Santa Clarita Light Up Main Street Old Town NewhallDate: Saturday, November 18
Location: Main Street, Old Town Newhall
The City of Santa Clarita invites residents to spend some time in Old Town Newhall to kick off the holiday season. Light Up Main Street celebration in Old Town Newhall happens on Saturday, November 18, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with festive dance and music performances from local groups. The Santa Clarita City Council will officially turn on the lights around 7:00 pm to transform Main Street into a winter wonderland. The street will be adorned with thousands of lights and a 23-foot Christmas tree in front of the Old Town Newhall Library will serve as an anchor to the festive street.
